Today is the day that everyone's waiting for. The 08.08.08 is a unique number, it only come once in a life time, nada siaran ulangan. And on this special date, mesti banyak acara yang di adakan not in Brunei saja but around the world but in Brunei, on this special date especially hari Juma'at tah lagi, ada acara Nikah dan tahlil di adakan. Some couples celebrate their anniversary and for sure ada baby kena lahirkan on this date, that would be superb, imagine saja on the I/C nanti tarikh lahirnya 08.08.08.. isn't that cool. And some people probably ambil kesempatan on this date as their azam baru, example, start diet, start simpan duit, start bertaubat? (I think) and melamar kahwin..
Also on this special date, as you people know sudah is the date of the Opening ceremony of The Beijing Olympic Game. The Chinese believes no.8 is a lucky number. It pronounce as 'Ba' which means Wealth and Prosperity (if im not mistaken lah), so it is no suprise la that the opening ceremonies begin at 8.00pm on 08.08.08. (lawa eh numbur ani). I watched the Opening ceremony tadi and waited for the Brunei Contingent waving their flag but then I heard from the commentator, Brunei was excluded from participating in the opening ceremony of the Beijing Games. I was shocked and dissapointed about this. What happened? this is an embarrassment to our country. Well atleast famous lah jua Brunei sikit and jadi bahan berita, inda ja. But this is not what we want, this is a major embarrassment and who is responsible for this?
According to the International Herald Tribune "The IOC excluded Brunei from participating in the opening ceremony of the Beijing Games on Friday because its national Olympic committee failed to register the country's two athletes by the required deadline. Brunei had until midday Friday to register its two athletes — 15-year-old swimmer Maria Grace Koh and shot putter Mohammed Yazid Yatimi Yusof — with the International Olympic Committee, but missed the deadline".

How sad that can be. I mean both of these athletes has been training berabis sudah untuk the Olympic game, although inda gerenti pulang durang dapat pingat but untuk menjadi wakil for Brunei is already enough, makes us the Bruneian proud. Tapi since kena announced Brunei was expelled atu, memalukan plang Negeri kitani. So in conclusion, I don't know whether our athletes are competing in the 2008 Beijing Olympic games or not because it was stated EXPELLED from the opening ceremony saja not from the games kan? Confuse eh.. Can somebody correct me if i'm wrong. But I remember Yazid told me they will compete in the games but not participating the opening ceremony saja. Oh well, I guess the number 08.08.08 is not so lucky for us and it's a date to remember for us the Bruneians. Enuff said.. adioossss
