After a long hard day work (distributing invitation card), I really really need a break and so I decided to watch a movie with my friends, Wira and Aida. I thought Cloverfield would be an interesting movie to watch cos when i saw the sneak preview at the E-News, the movie is more or less like War of the Worlds, The Day After Tomorrow, etc.. or something like a movie about destruction and terror, that is the type of movie i will go.When we came to collect our tickets, the girl at the counter told us that this movie was like a 'Blair Witch Project ' type of film that has a guy running around with a video camera recording the events as they happen. I didn't see that in the preview and as soon as we wanna change to another movie, the girl already gave us the ticket, inda sempat wah menukar movie lain. So we had to watch that movie after all.
The movie is about a guy video taping this girl in the morning. After a bunch of talking and video shots they begin to show this going away party for the main guy who is going to japan. After a few minutes of talking and interviewing people at the party the action begins. First the building shakes, nobody knows whats going on so they head to the roof. They show some explosions and the ground shakes again so they all leave the building. When they go outside you see explosions and the head of the statue of liberty comes flying down the street, bla bla bla.. and so on, i won't tell you guys everything, watch it yourself.
My point of view about this movie, it could have been more interesting if they made it using a professional camera instead of a guy taping the whole scenes using a video camera, which is sucks. I mean the story of the movie was interesting but the camera work was so annoying, it hurts your eyes. The story, while having some interesting and funny parts, sucks. You don't learn anything about whats going on or why its happening, suddenly a monster appeared in the middle of the city.. and the movie was not even 2hrs long. I saw it with 15 other people and all of us hated it. When the movie end, i heard everyone said.. "huh.. that's it??"
My advice people DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY TO WATCH THIS MOVIE.. SERIOUSSSLY.
